In Tove Jansson, Carroll's classic finds an illustrator worthy of its enchantment and surreal beauty. Jansson is renowned worldwide for her hugely successful books about the inhabitants of Moomin Valley. What is less well known is that in 1966 she devoted her unique gifts to illustrating Alice's extraordinary adventures.
Over forty years after her interpretation of Lewis Carroll's masterpiece was first enjoyed by Scandinavian readers, Tove Jansson's beautifully realised edition of the original text of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland is finally made available to an English-speaking audience.
Lewis Carroll (1832-98) is the pseudonym of Charles Lutwidge Dodgson. Carroll was a mathematics lecturer who in his spare time penned poems, short stories and children's tales as well as puzzles and games of logic. He was also a pioneering photographer.
Finnish author and illustrator Tove Jansson (1914-2001) is most famous for her much- loved Moomin characters. A novelist, painter, illustrator and cartoonist, Jansson's books have been translated into over forty languages.

Limited editions
Due to the nature of our Limited Edition artworks, Tate offers rates for packaging materials to sufficiently protect the works and a fully insured, door-to-door courier service, for both UK and international shipping.
Rugs
Rugs are dispatched directly from the Christopher Farr workshop, so they will arrive separately from any other items ordered from Tate Shop.

As each item of furniture is made to order, delivery takes 12-14 weeks, and will arrive separately to any other items in your Tate Shop order.
Food & Wine
Our collection of food and wine is only available for delivery in the UK. We currently offer free delivery on wine orders over £100, using a specialist white glove service within the M25 area.
Wine: UK only – £20 per order
Please note that our wines can only be purchased by those aged 18 years and over. Customers will be asked to provide proof of age upon delivery.

Refunds & returns
Please contact our customer service team within 45 days if you need to return anything from your order. We will be happy to offer you a full refund, replacement or exchange on any items excluding custom prints, Goldfinger + Tate furniture, face coverings and pierced earrings. We cannot cover the cost of returning the items, unless we've made a mistake or they are faulty.
