This limited edition of 100 cups has been created using a six thousand-year old traditional method. Each piece is painstakingly formed from layers of wood and lacquer which take weeks to dry. The specialised craftsmen work along an assembly line, each an expert in their own process, gradually perfecting the cup to form the finished item.
Åbäke took a residency in Wajima, a town famed for its lacquerware industry in order to work closely with the Urushi craftsmen to produce the unique lacquer cups.
To clean, wipe gently with a soft dry cloth.
