This large cotton tote bag was designed by Sarah Staton who took inspiration from the brickwork of both Tate Modern’s Blavatnik Building and the original Boiler House structure. It features an abstracted brick design on the outside and a blue and cream striped design on the inside, expressing both the building and referencing the gallery’s riverside location to create a fragment of Tate to take with you.
The inner pocket is perfect for keeping smaller items close by and the thick cotton handles are designed to either be held by hand or slung over your shoulder.
Sarah Staton is Senior Tutor in Sculpture at London's Royal College of Art and creates sculpture for the public realm, exhibiting internationally.
