Exclusive and charming cushion cover created by Tate.
The painting used on this cover is Alfred Wallis’s ‘String of Boats’. Wallis was an English painter, fisherman and scrap merchant who took up painting in his late sixties. He regarded his paintings as an expression of his experiences and was unaware of linear perspective, and instead arranged the objects in terms of relative importance.
The subject and colours he uses in his paintings are strongly evocative of the Cornish landscape using ships, trees and houses in colours of dark browns, shiny blacks and fierce greys.
Cushion not included. Will fit a 47 x 35 cm cushion pad.
