item code: 19965

12 month wall calendar featuring 12 artworks from Tate’s Pre-Raphaelite collection. Featuring iconic works from the movement’s most prominent figures, such as John Singer Sargent (Carnation, Lily, Lily, Rose 1885-6), Dante Gabriel Rossetti (Monna Vanna1866) and John Everett Millais (Ophelia 1851-2), each month has a full page colour image above a grid calendar.

The Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood was founded in London in 1848. Comprised of young artists and writers, they were known for controversially rebelling against the classical academic painting conventions of the day in favour of a meeting of medieval romanticism and a new realism, inspired by theories of John Ruskin .Their work predominantly dealt with religious themes, love, death, and subjects from literature and poetry.
