Fascinating Although intended as an introduction to the subject of women and war art, the book is more than that. It is full of moving and communicative works which transcend gender and are deserving of our attention in their own right.

Fresh and daring This is a thoughtful thesis on both war and the women who document it, and with marvellous and powerful imagery, there is a lot to think about here.
