Mini print of David Hockney’s iconic A Bigger Splash.
David Hockney, English painter, printmaker, photographer and stage designer, is perhaps the most popular and versatile British artist of the 20th century. A Bigger Splash was painted between April and June 1967 when Hockney was teaching at the University of California at Berkeley. He was fascinated by swimming pools as unlike in Britain, they were not considered a luxury in California, and the challenge of painting water and reflections became a recurrent theme for him during this period.
