Mini print of David Hockney’s Peter Getting Out of Nick's Pool 1966.

Peter Getting Out of Nick's Pool is one of a group of swimming pool paintings that Hockney created. He was fascinated by the subject, and the challenge of representing water and reflections became a recurrent theme for him during this period. Peter is Hockney’s friend and muse Peter Schlesinger, and Nick is LA gallery owner Nicholas Wilder. The painting won the John Moores prize at the Walker Art Gallery Liverpool in 1967, and Hockney used the money to send his parents on holiday.
