Produced exclusively for Tate to accompany the Georgia O’Keeffe exhibition at Tate Modern, this beautifully presented folio contains an archival quality print of O’Keeffe’s Oriental Poppies. Originally painted in 1927, this specially printed folio would make a lovely gift or exhibition memento for admirers of O’Keeffe’s work.
Oriental Poppies is painted in a much more realistic style than some of O'Keeffe's other flower paintings, which suggests that she was influenced by modernist photography.
Born in Wisconsin, USA in 1887, O’Keeffe is considered to be a pioneer of twentieth century art. She is best known for her vibrantly coloured paintings of enlarged flowers that were intended to draw the viewer’s attention to the beauty and intricacy of nature.
