Sara Fanelli's design for this glass has truly made the quotation 'The person you love is 72.8% water' come alive! Sara's vibrant designs were firstly screen-printed into lead free enamel transfers. Each motif is then hand placed on to the glass items which are then kiln fired, producing these quirky and beautiful items.

9cm height x 8.5cm dia. 390ml capacity.

Non dishwasher safe. Hand wash in lukewarm soapy water.

Machine made from lead free, soda glass. This is a very high quality fine glass.

About the Designer:

Artist and illustrator Sara Fanelli is one of the world's foremost illustrators, renowned for her experimental techniques. She is the winner of the 2008 Design & Art Direction award for outstanding achievement in illustration and book design for the Tate published book 'Sometimes I think Sometimes I am'. She was one of the youngest designers to join the AGI (Alliance Graphique Internationale) and she is the first woman illustrator to be elected Honorary Fellow of the Royal; Designers for Industry (RDI).

Her inspiration lies not only in the visual arts but also in literature and the theatre. Fanelli takes quotations and aphorisms that inspire her work, from Dante and Goethe to Calvino and Beckett, and places them in the context of a completely original artistic creation using a mixture of collages, typography paintings and drawings.

Designing the vase was a chance for Sara to make the quote 'The Earth laughs in Flowers' come alive with real flowers! The hot colours of the vase are complimented by the green colour of stems. Sara's vibrant designs were firstly screen- printed into lead free enamel transfers. Each motif is then hand placed on to the glass items which are then kiln fired, producing these quirky and beautiful items.
