Beautiful muted cotton canvas cushion cover featuring an image of Modigliani's Jeanne Hébuterne 1919. Produced in the UK to accompany the Modigliani retrospective exhibition at Tate Modern.
Arguably the most important person in Modigliani's life, Jeanne Hébuterne was his companion, mother to his daughter and favourite muse. During the fleeting years they spent together she became Modigliani's principle model featuring in over twenty portraits in which he captured her delicate beauty.
Born in Livorno, Italy and working in Paris from 1906, Modigliani developed a unique and instantly recognisable pictorial style. Though meeting little success during their time, his emotionally intense portraits and seductive nudes are now among the best-loved paintings of the 20th century.
Machine washable at 30 degrees, cool wash. Cushion insert sold separately.
