During the 1930s Picasso created a series of work which focussed upon the subject of the sculptor’s studio. The sculptures within each work often resembled his own sensual sculptures.

Pablo Picasso (1881–1973) is widely acknowledged as one of the most influential artists of the twentieth- century. Born in Spain, Picasso began his artistic career in Barcelona before settling in Paris in 1904. He worked in an unprecedented variety of styles and is recognised as a painter, sculptor, etcher, lithographer, ceramist and designer.
