Designed in 1918, the helmet wsa originally called the “bogatyrka”, its inspiration coming from Viktor Vasnetov’s famous painting of 1998, “The Boagtyr’s” in which three legendary warriors are depicted on horseback, defending ancient Russian soil and wearing metal armoured head- dress of a similar design.
