Ilse Bing applied her modern style of photography to advertising, photojournalism and portraiture during the 1930s. Her work featured in the exhibition Photography 1839-1937 at the Museum of Modern Art, New York in 1938. Dancer, Willem van Loon, 1932 is a stunning example of Bing’s eye for dynamic composition and technical skill.
The Radical Eye exhibition at Tate Modern displays Sir Elton John’s private photography collection. These rare photographic prints are taken from the classic Modernist period of the 1920s through to the 1950s and include such famous artists as Alexandr Rodchenko and Man Ray.
