This work recalls traditional full-length portraits of women but the clear lines and precision of the work gives it a modern feel. The model for this painting was Margaret Austin-Jones then aged twenty-three. The dress she wears was made by Framptonís mother from a Vogue pattern. The vase next to her was designed by Frampton.
