Additional Information

This bright eye is an exclusive small-scale replica of Chila Kumari Singh Burman’s neon eye, which sat at the centre of Tate Britain’s façade during her iconic Winter Commission Remembering a Brave New World, 2020. Made from high quality neon flex mounted to a clear acrylic board, have her eye watch over your home with this easily-installed indoor light, created in collaboration with the artist herself.

Each sign is hand-assembled, and made in small batches from neon flex (PVC piping with LED lights inside), which is 80% more energy efficient than traditional neon signs, whilst delivering the same intense colours.

The eye measures 27 x 42 cm, and comes with a dimmer, UK plug, a 3 metre transparent cable, and an installation kit. The installation kit contains enough specialist screws or 3M adhesive strips for you to easily affix your sign to your wall. For peace of mind, the signs are insured during transport, and come with a 1 year guarantee.

About the Artist
Chila Kumari Singh Burman is a self-described ‘Punjabi Liverpudlian’ who likes to combine her Indian roots with popular culture to create mixed media artworks. She has been described as a South Asian pop artist; in her own words, her work is ‘A clash between high art and popular culture. An eclectic mix of art and activism addressing global protest’. Her artwork for Tate’s 2020 Winter Commission, Remembering a Brave New World combined autobiographical elements with neon lights, slogans and collage.
