Frank Bowling’s works at times contain social elements, with friends and visitors invited to help mix and pour paint, and incorporating gifts, souvenirs and incidental details into the paintings themselves. This is one example - its title references an event in Bowling’s life, and the middle stripe of coloured blocks is part of a work given to him by an artist friend, Arlington Weithers.
Frank Bowling (born 1936) moved to Britain in his late teens from Guyana, and studied painting at the Royal College of Art alongside David Hockney, R.B. Kitaj and Derek Boshier, graduating in 1962 with the Silver Medal in painting. He was elected as a member of the Royal Academy of Arts in 2005, and awarded an OBE in 2008. He continues to work in his studios in New York and London.
All our exhibition prints measure 40 x 30 cm and include a white border with full artwork credit line.
Our exhibition prints are produced using 10 colour digital giclée printing processes on fine art paper. We work with only UK based PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forestry Certification) and FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified suppliers for all our print products.

Delivery times
We aim to deliver shop products within:
UK – 1-2 weeks
European Union – 2-4 weeks
Rest of world – 2-4 weeks
Neon lights will be delivered in 2-4 weeks, as they are made in small batches and shipped separately from other items.

We currently offer free standard delivery on UK orders over £60. Please note that this is offer is valid only online. Our other delivery costs are as follows.

UK – £3.60 per order
European Union – £15 per order
Rest of world (including non-EU European countries) – £28 per order
Limited editions
Due to the nature of our Limited Edition artworks, Tate offers rates for packaging materials to sufficiently protect the works and a fully insured, door-to-door courier service, for both UK and international shipping.
Rugs
Rugs are dispatched directly from the Christopher Farr workshop, so they will arrive separately from any other items ordered from Tate Shop.

Goldfinger + Tate furniture
As each item of furniture is made to order, delivery takes 12-14 weeks, and will arrive separately to any other items in your Tate Shop order.
Food & Wine
Our collection of food and wine is only available for delivery in the UK. We currently offer free delivery on wine orders over £100, using a specialist white glove service within the M25 area.
Wine: UK only – £20 per order
Please note that our wines can only be purchased by those aged 18 years and over. Customers will be asked to provide proof of age upon delivery.

Refunds & returns
Please contact our customer service team within 45 days if you need to return anything from your order. We will be happy to offer you a full refund, replacement or exchange on any items excluding custom prints, Goldfinger + Tate furniture, face coverings and pierced earrings. We cannot cover the cost of returning the items, unless we've made a mistake or they are faulty.
