During the year of 1932 Picasso cemented his status within the art world and produced some of his most iconic works. The themes of vanity and the female form were often referenced, with mirrors featuring frequently in his portraits.

Pablo Picasso (1881–1973) is widely acknowledged as one of the most influential artists of the twentieth- century. Born in Spain, Picasso began his artistic career in Barcelona before settling in Paris in 1904. He worked in an unprecedented variety of styles and is recognised as a painter, sculptor, etcher, lithographer, ceramist and designer.
