Fiona Rae is the latest artist to take up the Tate Members' commission. To celebrate the launch, the artist has produced two very limited edition prints exclusively for Tate which are numbered, dated, titled and signed by the artist.
'Gather all the treasure' 2011 and 'We are all fuzzy robots' 2011 are indicative of Rae's style; her works are powerful and often highly complex featuring expressive and painterly marks alongside graphic signs and symbols.
Fiona Rae was born in Hong Kong in 1963 and completed a BA Hons Fine Art degree at Goldsmiths College in 1987.The following year she participated in Damien Hirst's Freeze exhibition in London's Docklands and was shortlisted for the Turner Prize at the Tate Gallery in 1991.
