This black and white image is an intimate behind-the-scenes shot of Mike Nelson's now legendary work for the 2001 Venice Biennale (entitled The Deliverance and The Patience) as it was being constructed. The items on the shelves are laid out, ready to be selected and incorporated into the narrative of the work, a labyrinthine installation which occupied more than 4000 square feet of space.
