This stunning vintage poster gives you the opportunity to own a rare piece of art history.

For several decades now, vintage lithographic posters have become collectible works of art in their own right. With little in common with offset or digital reproductions, their place in art history is well established and documented Artists such as Picasso were intimately involved in the production of these works. Conceived as announcements for exhibitions, ads for tourism and as illustrations for political events, these works were often the creations that had the broadest audience. Twentieth century artists were quite aware of this fact and therefore spent much energy and time on their design and quality.

These images could be found throughout the city streets of Europe, on the windows of shops and cafés and on bulletin boards of schools and community centers. Their life span was usually short as they were often destroyed and discarded when replaced by the next poster.

Starting in the 1920's, the Atelier Mourlot was the largest and best known print shop to manufacture these lithographic works and over the years. A selection of the surviving orignal posters are now available in Tate Online Shop.
