Drawing on Tate’s permanent collection with its emphasis on artists who had emerged since the war the exhibition devoted a room to each of the selected movements. The movements featured were Abstract Expressionism, Tachism and Cobra, Op and Kinetic Art, British and American Pop, Minimalism and the use of photography by painters and sculptors.
