This piece is one in a series of four screenprints titled May. The piece uses a colour palette of white and natural tones, punctuated by lines of yellow, red and grey. Richard Lin Show Yu may have titled his works with the name of a month to deepen their connection with a sense of time and place, whilst exploring abstract minimalism.

Richard Lin Show Yu (1933–2011) was born in Taiwan, and studied and worked in Europe. The heir to a prestigious family, he renounced his inheritance to become a full-time artist. His works are influenced by Eastern aesthetic theory, Taoist concepts and Chinese calligraphy, as well as contemporary European and American abstract movements. The recipient of several prestigious awards, his work has been exhibited globally, with several pieces in Tate’s collection.

As each print is handmade to order they take a little longer to prepare. We’ll dispatch your order as soon as it is ready, separately from any other items.
