Tatty Devine have drawn on colour theory for their latest Tate collection. The masters of art jewellery present colour-saturated pieces in simple geometric shapes.

"I was obsessed with colour theory at college," says designer Harriet Vine. "I recently watched a documentary about Degas. It showed a library full of old bound books which contain colour theory paintings done by scientists. The paintings aren't supposed to be art, they are purely scientific. But they look like spot paintings, and that's what inspired me."

This led to perspex Spot jewellery, with earrings, rings and brooches lasercut in simple circles and bright shades. Spot Necklaces play with perceptions, as the eye is drawn by complementary and opposing hues.

Colour Theory bangles and bracelets present an entire colour wheel of shapes in rainbow hues, while triangles seem to point the way around the Colour Theory Necklace.

The collection immediately appeals to the senses, and complements fashion's bright mood.
