Home is where the art is
Tate custom prints are a great way to bring your favourite artworks into your home. With over 1000 artworks to choose from and prices starting at £30, it’s easy to find the perfect print for your space.
We’ve been partnering with our print specialists since 1985 to produce these made-to-order fine art prints in the most affordable, sustainable and efficient way possible, without compromising on quality.
Browse our artworks by artist, theme, colour, gallery or art movement to find your favourite piece. Once you’ve selected your artwork, choose your paper size and whether you’d like it unframed or framed in black, grey, white or natural ash wood. On a desktop or laptop, you can see how your print will look in your chosen size and frame in the preview image to the left of the options, if you’re browsing on your mobile or tablet, the images will be at the top of the page.
There’s a size and price guide linked underneath the options if you need a little more information on paper, mount and image sizes. Click ‘confirm options’ for each stage when you’ve made your selection, and then you can preview what your chosen size and frame options look like in the image carousel. If you change your mind, or want to see what a different size or frame would look like, just click the ‘amend options’ button to choose again and see new preview images.
Traditional craft meets modern technology
Our team at Tate source archive images of our artworks and liaise with artists and estates to make the most accurate digital reproduction of the original pieces we can. These are then printed in Sussex on FSC certified 300gsm Purcell Ultrasmooth matte fine art paper using a SwissQ print system: a state-of-the-art, large-format flatbed printer. Swiss-made, it’s fitted with low energy LED lights and cutting-edge UV printing processes, allowing us to print exceptionally precisely, reduce paper waste, and be more energy efficient. The inks used are vegan, VOC, NVC and TPO free, and are used in 8 colour channels to achieve unparalleled colour matching for our artworks.
Whilst the prints are digital, the framing and mounting processes are all done traditionally, by skilled craftspeople. Our hand-finished frames for fine art prints are crafted from responsibly sourced wood from sustainably managed forests in the Northern American states, where the temperate climate ensures a slow growth rate. The resulting timber is milled in the UK and each frame is assembled and finished in our workshop, surrounding an acid-free, extra-thick smooth white mount board, and glazed with clear, 90% UV-protected acrylic glazing.
Not only safer than glass, the shatter-resistant cast acrylic also preserves your prints from light damage and sun bleaching, and has 92% optical clarity. It helps to protect your print from the wear and tear of life in the home, and both the glazing and frame can be cleaned with a damp, soft cloth.
After assembly, your Tate custom print is sent straight from our print workshop to your door, safely packed in cardboard protective packaging, using recycled materials where possible. You’ll be kept up to date with tracking information from our courier partners, and your custom printed artwork will be with you within 14 days, ready to hang in your home.
Unframed prints are sent rolled in a cardboard tube – unroll and lay flat to rest for a little while before displaying. Your framed custom print will arrive ready to hang in its correct orientation, with D-rings and a picture cord in place. Picture hooks, wall fittings, screws and wall plugs are not included with the frame, so check which type of fittings are best for your walls and purchase them ahead of time if you’d like to hang your art straight away. Once your fittings are securely attached to your wall, just hook the picture cord onto the wall hook. Job done – you can stand back and admire your Tate artwork print, for many years to come.
