Made from 100% tan cotton canvas, waxed for a hard-wearing, splash proof finish, the backpack combines the utilitarian style that Ally Capellino is renowned for, with intuitive detailing that brings modern practicality to the classic design. With sturdy brown cotton webbing straps and a metal zip for ultimate longevity, the rucksack opens to reveal a handy laptop or sketchbook pouch nestled against the back panel. A front envelope pocket fastened with a magnetic nylon webbing tab is finished with our square Ally Capellino TATE patch.
The timeless design of the bag echoes the style of our first collection with Ally Capellino. Created with makers in mind, the collection was popular with creatives, artists and adventurers of all ages, and signalled the start of a creative rapport that’s spanned two decades. With tan canvas and elegant, practical accent detailing, the collection was rumoured to be inspired by a bag owned by John Constable (it wasn’t, but who knows – perhaps he’d have appreciated an Ally Capellino + Tate bag for his en plein air painting supplies).
To keep your bag looking at its best, wipe with a damp cloth to clean and do not machine wash.

Delivery times
Please note that from 21 May to 8 June some deliveries may be delayed while we move to a new distribution centre. Thank you for your patience during this time.
We aim to deliver stocked shop products within:
- UK Standard – 1 week
- International (excluding EU) – 2-4 weeks
For framed custom prints and rugs, we aim to deliver within:
- UK – 1-2 weeks
- International (excluding EU) – 2-4 weeks
Smartphone Audio Guides are digital only, and the link to listen to the guide will be sent to your email address.
Many of our neon lights are made in small batches, delivery is estimated at 4-6 weeks worldwide. Our Goldfinger x Tate furniture collection is made to order, with a production lead time of 12-14 weeks.
Please note that some items are dispatched separately if they are made to order (such as coffee, custom prints and custom print clothing, neon lights or furniture). This means that if you order these items alongside other shop products, they won’t all arrive together, and you’ll get several deliveries.
If the delivery time frame for each item has ended and you’re still waiting for something from your order, please get in touch and we’ll investigate for you.
Delivery costs
We currently offer free standard delivery on UK orders over £60. Our other delivery costs are as follows.
For orders under £60:
UK Standard – £5 per order
Rest of world (excluding EU) – £28 per order
All international orders are now delivered with Duties Paid. This means that your delivery cost includes all customs, duties and fees.
From 13 December 2024, we will be temporarily pausing shipping to the European Union, to update our details to comply with new EU General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR). We will restart shipping to the EU as soon as possible, thank you for your patience.

Refunds & returns
If you are not completely happy with your order, you can return your items to us free of charge within 30 days of purchase, and we will be happy to offer you a full refund, replacement or exchange on any items excluding custom prints, rugs, furniture and pierced earrings.
