This exclusive collaboration between The Skateroom and the Jean-Michel Basquiat estate sees the brilliant Gold Griot expertly printed on the base of this high quality Canadian maple wood skateboard. Before Basquiat became famous in the eighties, his work was already legendary on the streets of Soho, New York under the tag SAMO. The inspirations for Basquiat’s works are drawn from Greek, Roman, and African art to jazz, pop culture, the NY skate scene and his artistic contemporaries.

All boards from The Skateroom are constructed from 7-ply Canadian Maple, which has been sourced from sustainable forests. All designs are individually silkscreen printed by hand to ensure the artwork looks as good as possible - the artist’s signature is printed on the back. Once ordered, your boards will be delivered in custom protective packaging and include special wall mounts which give the board a floating appearance.

The Skateroom have collaborated with the international charity Skateistan, an international NGO that uses skateboarding as a tool for empowering disadvantaged youth. Proceeds of The Skateroom’s collaborations go to supporting their work worldwide.

Delivery times

Please note that from 21 May to 8 June some deliveries may be delayed while we move to a new distribution centre. Thank you for your patience during this time.

We aim to deliver stocked shop products within:

  • UK Standard – 1 week
  • International (excluding EU) – 2-4 weeks

For framed custom prints and rugs, we aim to deliver within:

  • UK – 1-2 weeks
  • International (excluding EU) – 2-4 weeks

Smartphone Audio Guides are digital only, and the link to listen to the guide will be sent to your email address.

Many of our neon lights are made in small batches, delivery is estimated at 4-6 weeks worldwide. Our Goldfinger x Tate furniture collection is made to order, with a production lead time of 12-14 weeks.

Please note that some items are dispatched separately if they are made to order (such as coffee, custom prints and custom print clothing, neon lights or furniture). This means that if you order these items alongside other shop products, they won’t all arrive together, and you’ll get several deliveries.

If the delivery time frame for each item has ended and you’re still waiting for something from your order, please get in touch and we’ll investigate for you.

 

Delivery costs

We currently offer free standard delivery on UK orders over £60. Our other delivery costs are as follows.

For orders under £60:

UK Standard – £5 per order

Rest of world (excluding EU) – £28 per order


All international orders are now delivered with Duties Paid. This means that your delivery cost includes all customs, duties and fees.

From 13 December 2024, we will be temporarily pausing shipping to the European Union, to update our details to comply with new EU General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR). We will restart shipping to the EU as soon as possible, thank you for your patience.

Refunds & returns

If you are not completely happy with your order, you can return your items to us free of charge within 30 days of purchase, and we will be happy to offer you a full refund, replacement or exchange on any items excluding custom prints, rugs, furniture and pierced earrings.
