Free delivery from £60
A Plan of the Cities of London and Westminster, and Borough of Southwark; with the contiguous buildings is the full title of John Rocque’s Map of London. Surveyed by John Rocque and engraved by John Pine, it has been described as the most detailed and accurate map of 18th-century London ever produced. Consisting of 24 sheets of detailed cartography, it mapped Georgian London to a scale or 26 inches to a mile. Pine engraved the map on copper – after drawing, each paper sheet was placed over a waxed copper plate and the lines were traced manually to produce the engraving. The plate was inked and damp paper pressed on to it to pick up the ink.

John Pine, (1690— 1756), was an English engraver and friend of William Hogarth. He owned a printshop in London, where he published books which he illustrated himself. The Friar in William Hogarth’s O the Roast Beef of Old England ('The Gate of Calais'), 1748 is said to be modelled on him.

John Rocque (1704 – 1762) was a French-born British surveyor and cartographer, famous for his detailed map of London published in 1746. As well as being a surveyor and mapmaker, Rocque was also an engraver and map-seller – he had a shop in Piccadilly, where members of the public were also able to view his map of London in progress and suggest revisions.

Please note that some items are dispatched separately if they are made to order (such as coffee, custom prints and custom print clothing, neon lights or furniture). This means that if you order these items alongside other shop products, they won’t all arrive together, and you’ll get several deliveries.

If the delivery time frame for each item has ended and you’re still waiting for something from your order, please get in touch and we’ll investigate for you.

We currently offer free standard delivery on UK orders over £60. Please note that this is offer is valid only online. Our other delivery costs are as follows.

For orders under £60:

UK – £3.60 per order

European Union – £15 per order

Rest of world (including non-EU European countries) – £28 per order

Limited editions

Due to the nature of our Limited Edition artworks, Tate offers rates for packaging materials to sufficiently protect the works and a fully insured, door-to-door courier service, for both UK and international shipping.

USA & Canada – £80 each
European Union – £120 each
Rest of world (including non-EU European countries) – £150 each
 
 

Rugs

Rugs are dispatched directly from the Christopher Farr workshop, so they will arrive separately from any other items ordered from Tate Shop.

Goldfinger + Tate furniture

As each item of furniture is made to order, delivery takes 12-14 weeks, and will arrive separately to any other items in your Tate Shop order.

UK – £150 per order using a specialist white-glove delivery service. An access check can be arranged for £80.
 

Food & Wine

Our collection of food and wine is only available for delivery in the UK. We currently offer free delivery on wine orders over £100, using a specialist white glove service within the M25 area.

Wine: UK only – £20 per order

Please note that our wines can only be purchased by those aged 18 years and over. Customers will be asked to provide proof of age upon delivery.

Refunds & returns

Please contact our customer service team within 45 days if you need to return anything from your order. We will be happy to offer you a full refund, replacement or exchange on any items excluding custom prints, Goldfinger + Tate furniture, face coverings and pierced earrings. We cannot cover the cost of returning the items, unless we've made a mistake or they are faulty.
