Additional Information
The artist’s name, and the name and dates of the exhibition are written on the back of the tote bag, in white against black cotton. Our Tate dot logo also features, in the bottom corner of the bag.
The exhibition showcases around 80 works from 2003 to 2020, and is the most extensive survey of the artist’s career to date. It charts the development and evolution of her distinctive portraits of imagined figures, artworks which provoke important questions on identity and representation.

About the artist
Lynette Yiadom-Boakye (b.1977) is a British artist and writer acclaimed for her enigmatic portraits of fictitious people. Through her focus on the depiction of imagined black characters Yiadom-Boakye’s paintings raise important questions about identity and representation. She was the 2012 recipient of the Pinchuk Foundation Future Generation Prize, was shortlisted for the Turner Prize in 2013, and was awarded the prestigious Carnegie Prize in 2018.

Delivery times
Please note that from 21 May to 8 June some deliveries may be delayed while we move to a new distribution centre. Thank you for your patience during this time.
We aim to deliver stocked shop products within:
- UK Standard – 1 week
- International (excluding EU) – 2-4 weeks
For framed custom prints and rugs, we aim to deliver within:
- UK – 1-2 weeks
- International (excluding EU) – 2-4 weeks
Smartphone Audio Guides are digital only, and the link to listen to the guide will be sent to your email address.
Many of our neon lights are made in small batches, delivery is estimated at 4-6 weeks worldwide. Our Goldfinger x Tate furniture collection is made to order, with a production lead time of 12-14 weeks.
Please note that some items are dispatched separately if they are made to order (such as coffee, custom prints and custom print clothing, neon lights or furniture). This means that if you order these items alongside other shop products, they won’t all arrive together, and you’ll get several deliveries.
If the delivery time frame for each item has ended and you’re still waiting for something from your order, please get in touch and we’ll investigate for you.
Delivery costs
We currently offer free standard delivery on UK orders over £60. Our other delivery costs are as follows.
For orders under £60:
UK Standard – £5 per order
Rest of world (excluding EU) – £28 per order
All international orders are now delivered with Duties Paid. This means that your delivery cost includes all customs, duties and fees.
From 13 December 2024, we will be temporarily pausing shipping to the European Union, to update our details to comply with new EU General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR). We will restart shipping to the EU as soon as possible, thank you for your patience.

Refunds & returns
If you are not completely happy with your order, you can return your items to us free of charge within 30 days of purchase, and we will be happy to offer you a full refund, replacement or exchange on any items excluding custom prints, rugs, furniture and pierced earrings.
