Pablo Picasso Le Rêve bag

In bold, bright colours like Picasso’s original painting, this tough-but-lightweight bag features a detail from Le Rêve (The Dream), 1932.

The Dream is part of a series of portraits that Picasso made of Marie-Thérèse Walter, reworking the theme of a seated model in lavish colours with curved lines. Taking its red colour from the chair Walter sits on, one side of the shopper features a detail of the painting at the centre, with the artist’s signature, the artwork title and date, and credit details printed above and below. The other side of the bag features a close cropped detail of the face.

Made from recycled polyester, the fold-up tote bag is water-resistant, lightweight, and hardy enough to carry up to 20 kg in books, groceries or school stuff. When not in use, the bag handily zips away into it matching zip pocket, which also features a detail of the full artwork, and a matching pale green zip.

About the artist

Pablo Picasso (1881–1973) is widely acknowledged as one of the most influential artists of the twentieth century. Born in Spain, Picasso began his artistic career in Barcelona before settling in Paris in 1904.
