Description
This large cotton tote bag has been produced exclusively in the UK for our 2017 exhibition, Soul of a Nation: Art in the Age of Black Power. It features an image of Romare Bearden’s distinctive collage, Pittsburgh Memory , 1964.

A prominent American artist, Romare Bearden created work across many mediums that celebrated and explored the black American experience. For many years Bearden was a social worker with the New York City Department of Social Services and worked on his art at night and on weekends. Gradually he gained recognition, particularly for his large painterly style collages and was exhibited throughout the United States and Europe.

100% cotton canvas, sponge clean only.
