Andy Warhol vintage Interview magazine t-shirt

A highly-sought after collectors’ piece, this vintage Interview Magazine t-shirt from the late 1970s is a piece of Pop Art history itself. Sourced in Los Angeles, USA by British contemporary vintage company Unified Goods for our Andy Warhol vintage t-shirt capsule collection, it’s made from sun-bleached cotton with a bright pink cracked ‘Interview’ graphic across the chest.

Interview Magazine was founded by Andy Warhol and British journalist John Wilcock, and became known as ‘the crystal ball of Pop’. It featured unedited or eccentric interviews with artists, musicians, celebrities and creative thinkers in its original form, and remains a popular magazine to this day. It was initially only given out to the ‘in crowd’ to spread the word on sub-cultural happenings across New York City.

Our major Andy Warhol 2020 retrospective is the first Warhol exhibition at Tate Modern for almost 20 years. As well as his iconic pop images of Marilyn Monroe, Coca-Cola and Campbell’s soup cans, it includes works never before seen in the UK.
