Sourdough Blanket

For this cosy woollen blanket, Eleanor Pritchard’s inspiration came from an unlikely source: her favourite bread. The large woven blanket is adorned with her Sourdough design – a fine gridwork of grey lines on white and white lines on grey, edged with contrasting chrome yellow stitching.

It’s woven from undyed British wool (mostly Suffolk, spun with some Welsh Mountain and Jacob fleece).

Eleanor Pritchard is a British textile designer, creating designs and fabrics inspired by traditional textile craft, reinterpreted for a contemporary audience. Each design is drafted and sampled in her Deptford studio on her peg-and-lag dobby loom. After she’s finalised the fabric, she writes up all the notes and specifications and sends them to one of the 3 British mills she works with, where they recreate it in every detail, creating the beautiful, traditionally crafted items available here.

Care advice:

If your blanket needs to be cleaned, we’d recommend professional dry cleaning only. To avoid damage from wool-loving clothes moths, regularly shake it, and if putting into storage, make sure that your blanket is clean, dry and wrapped in a sealed bag or container.
