A kilo bag of Shyira coffee celebrating Tate Modern’s 25th birthday. In your choice of grind or whole beans, it’s roasted at our Coffee by Tate Roastery at Tate Britain .

Coffee by Tate is a vibrant community-led non-profit business that helps fund Tate Gallery and champion coffee producers and professionals of all genders throughout the coffee value chain. Our range of coffees is comprised of individual, community and family producers and designed to reflect the seasonality, diversity and quality of coffee grown across Africa and Latin America. Our coffees are the results of projects, relationships or initiatives that we have instigated or supported in producing communities, with the help of our partners, and changes seasonally. This is a more sustainable process that ensures the highest quality yield and allows us to work with more producers.

This special anniversary edition is a natural process coffee from Rwanda, and we’re thrilled to have sourced this exceptional lot from Shyira to celebrate 25 Years of Tate Modern.

The Tate Modern 25 Years anniversary coffee label features an image of Henri Matisse’s The Snail, 1953, one of the Tate Modern artworks chosen for our anniversary highlights.

About our producers

To widen the regional flavour profiles of the coffee producing districts of Rwanda, Muraho Trading Co in partnership with our import partner Raw Material looked to the area of Shyira. The area was chosen for its enormous potential for high-quality production of specialty coffee, but also as an area where a large social impact could be made.

Shyira (pronounced Sheer-rah) is a small station built in 2017 sitting at 2000 MASL on the hillside outside of the main township. The station collects cherries from neighbouring producers that live between 2000-2400 MASL. This is the highest grown coffee we know of in Rwanda, from a region where very few washing stations are located, making it somewhat unique.

Delivery times

We aim to deliver stocked shop products within:

  • UK – 2-3 working days
  • International (excluding EU) – 2-4 weeks

For framed custom prints and rugs, we aim to deliver within:

  • UK – 1-2 weeks
  • International (excluding EU) – 2-4 weeks

Many of our neon lights are made in small batches, delivery is estimated at 4-6 weeks worldwide. Our Goldfinger x Tate furniture collection is made to order, with a production lead time of 12-14 weeks.

Please note that some items are dispatched separately if they are made to order (such as coffee, custom prints and custom print clothing, neon lights or furniture). This means that if you order these items alongside other shop products, they won’t all arrive together, and you’ll get several deliveries.

If the delivery time frame for each item has ended and you’re still waiting for something from your order, please get in touch and we’ll investigate for you.

 

Delivery costs

We currently offer free standard delivery on UK orders over £60. Our other delivery costs are as follows.

For orders under £60:

UK – £5 per order

Rest of world ((excluding EU) – £28 per order

From 13 December 2024, we will be temporarily pausing shipping to the European Union and Northern Ireland, to update our details to comply with new EU General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR). We will restart shipping to the EU and NI as soon as possible, thank you for your patience.

Refunds & returns

If you are not completely happy with your order, you can return any items to us, free of charge within 60 days of purchase, and we will be happy to offer you a full refund, replacement or exchange on any items excluding custom prints, furniture and pierced earrings.
