The World of Keith Haring double CD album

20 track double CD album of the music that was central to artist Keith Haring’s life and art, from Soul Jazz records in collaboration with Tate Liverpool to celebrate our Keith Haring exhibition. A combination of rare disco, early electro and New York punk/dance tracks reflect Haring’s vibrant world of downtown New York in the 1980s.

Music and the New York club scene were incredibly important to Haring. A regular at the Mudd Clubb, Paradise Garage and Club 57 as both clubber and exhibitor, break-dancers and DJs would also perform at his gallery openings, and the kinetic energy of the 1980s dance scene is evident in many of his works. When working overseas, Haring kept in touch with the New York music scene by listening to mixtapes, and these mixtapes provide some of the inspiration for this collection, capturing a flavour of Haring’s wide-ranging musical influences and connections.

The Double CD album comes packaged in deluxe artwork with a 48-page book, extensive sleevenotes, original photography and interviews. Every purchase supports Tate.
