This marks our 8th year working with Yolanda, having started our relationship back in 2015 and one of the first producers we reached out to with the help of Falcon Specialty, as part of our Gender Equality Project. We have sourced a micro-lot that contains IH-CAFÉ-90 and Lempira varieties, both high yielding plants that grow well at low altitude and thrives in high temperatures. We’re very proud to be showcasing Yolanda’s experimental nature and energy for progression with this coffee for another year.

About our producers

Yolanda owns the farm El Triunfo located in the Las Pacayas area of Corquin, Copan, which she manages her farm with the help of her husband and her three sons who are all studying agronomy. The farm is only small, at just two hectares, and consists of mostly Red Catuai variety. However, there are small parcel of Lempira + IH-Café-90 growing alongside fruit and native trees.

El Truinfo is mostly covered by native forest and shade trees, since Yolanda believes that the key to the quality of her coffee is in the synergy of coffee with the rest of the environment. Although it’s not certified, Yolanda and Luis manage their farms biodynamically and biodiversity is central to their approach.
