Although titled Ocean View
, the daisies in the foreground of the painting steal the show, and are perhaps the same flowers as another painting by Katz from the same year, Daisies #2
. Katz painted many of his small scale works en plein air, and the quick, loose brushstrokes give a feeling of immediacy.
