Item details
This is a print of Henri Matisse's 'Icarus', created in the early 1940s.

One of Matisse's most recognisable artworks 'Icarus' shows the fall of Icarus, a Greek mythological character. Icarus learnt how to fly using wings made from wax by his father. However, overcome with pride, he flew too close to the sun, melting the wax and he fell to his death.

This artwork first appeared in Jazz 1947 (Pompidou, Paris), a book of 20 plates.
