Kinley explained that he ‘frequently painted animals to reassert, among other things, their right to respect in a culture which accords them only marginal consideration'. A keen supporter of animal rights, in the 1970s he used his work as a platform to explore and promote these ideas.

Peter Kinley ( 1926 - 1988)[1] was a Vienna-born British artist. Born Peter Nikolaus Arthur Eduard Schwarz, as a Jewish child in Vienna during WWII he was evacuated to England as part of the Kindertransport scheme. He later studied art at the Düsseldorf Academy and St Martin's School of Art, teaching at the latter from 1954 onwards. He was married to Monika Wolf, an artist, art dealer, curator and collector.

As each print is handmade to order they take a little longer to prepare. We’ll dispatch your order as soon as it is ready, separately from any other items.

As custom prints are made to order, unfortunately we cannot accept returns if you have changed your mind or made a mistake.
