The colours and patterns of Wilhemina Barns-Graham’s Orange and Red on Pink, 1991 flood this Swatch x Tate watch with the artwork’s vibrant energy.
Barns-Graham created her abstract artworks as a celebration of life and a joyful expression of the importance of colour, space and construction. For her, they were exercised in risk taking, and a way to create the unexpected.
The large-faced watch is printed all-over with a slice of Barns-Graham’s screenprint, covering the watch case, dial and silicone straps with the orange, pink, red and black details from the original artwork. The hour and minute hands are pink, and the seconds hand is white. Black dots mark the hours, printed onto the glass.
A pink plastic buckle fastens the straps, with a frosted silicone loop bearing Tate’s dot logo just behind it.
Since the early 1980s, Swatch has been collaborating with artists, designers and galleries to spread the idea that art makes the world a better place – a belief Tate shares. We’ve collaborated to reinterpret Tate collection artworks into timepieces to be treasured.
The Swiss-made watch has all the functionality and practicality you’d expect from a Swatch watch. Water resistant, you can keep your watch clean with a toothbrush dipped in soapy water, and dry with a soft cloth. Rinse in lukewarm water after swimming in salt water, and avoid contact with solvents and creams. Light scratches to the synthetic glass can be buffed out using cream polish, and when your watch battery runs out, you can get it replaced for free at a Swatch shop.

Please note that some items are dispatched separately if they are made to order (such as coffee, custom prints and custom print clothing, neon lights or furniture). This means that if you order these items alongside other shop products, they won’t all arrive together, and you’ll get several deliveries.

Limited editions
Due to the nature of our Limited Edition artworks, Tate offers rates for packaging materials to sufficiently protect the works and a fully insured, door-to-door courier service, for both UK and international shipping.
Rugs
Rugs are dispatched directly from the Christopher Farr workshop, so they will arrive separately from any other items ordered from Tate Shop.

As each item of furniture is made to order, delivery takes 12-14 weeks, and will arrive separately to any other items in your Tate Shop order.

Our collection of food and wine is only available for delivery in the UK. We currently offer free delivery on wine orders over £100, using a specialist white glove service within the M25 area.
Wine: UK only – £20 per order
Please note that our wines can only be purchased by those aged 18 years and over. Customers will be asked to provide proof of age upon delivery.

Refunds & returns
Please contact our customer service team within 45 days if you need to return anything from your order. We will be happy to offer you a full refund, replacement or exchange on any items excluding custom prints, Goldfinger + Tate furniture, face coverings and pierced earrings. We cannot cover the cost of returning the items, unless we've made a mistake or they are faulty.
