Description
To celebrate Tate Britain’s British Baroque: Power and Illusion exhibition, this decorative palm plaque is available from Tate Shop. Cast in English plaster by Master Plaster Caster and collector Peter Hone for Lassco Three Pigeons, the plaque has been cast from an original D. Brucciani & Co cast from Hone’s impressive collection, and will add a touch of Rococo inspired flair to your home décor.

Domenico Brucciani was a Master Caster whose business made casts of classical sculptures, bronzes and decorative pieces from all over Europe, from the mid to late 1800s. As well as the original D. Brucciani & co stamp, the palm plaque has a secure wire loop for easy wall hanging, and an official Peter Hone Collection stamp to the rear.

Baroque was the dominant style in art and architecture from the 17th – mid-18th century. It was characterized by self-confidence, dynamism and a realistic approach to depiction. Tate Britain’s British Baroque: Power and Illusion exhibition marks the first time that Tate has staged a show devoted to the later 17th century and the first to explore baroque art in Britain. It’s a chance to encounter a rich, sophisticated but overlooked era of art history.

Dimensions: 28 x 19.5 cm.

Please note that this ornamental piece is heavy, and is recommended for indoor use, away from rain or damp conditions.
