For their exhibition at the MK&G in Hamburg, Germany, Guerrilla Girls looked at the gallery’s collection and created this billboard infographic to represent their findings – that just 1.5% of the works held are by women artists.
The poster shows a German cinnamon pastry, called a Franzbrötchen, on a plate next to a crumb. Next to the image are the words ‘This Franzbrötchen represents the 400,000 graphic works in the MK&G Hamburg. The crumb represents works by women: 1.5%’. The background of the poster is lilac, and the words ‘A message from the Guerrilla Girls’ is printed at the bottom left of the piece.
This reproduction poster measures 40 x 60 cm, and is printed without a border. It’s part of our Guerrilla Girls Tate Edit takeover, a celebration of art and activism curated by the masked artists themselves. Formed in New York City in 1985, Guerrilla Girls strive to ‘fight discrimination through humour, activism, and the arts’, highlighting sexism, racism and elitism in the art world. They conceal their identities, often with gorilla masks, and use pseudonyms. They continue to produce publicity exposing discrimination, as well as conducting seminars and workshops in schools, colleges and art institutions.

European Union – £15 per order
Rest of world (including non-EU European countries) – £28 per order
Limited editions
Due to the nature of our Limited Edition artworks, Tate offers rates for packaging materials to sufficiently protect the works and a fully insured, door-to-door courier service, for both UK and international shipping.
Rugs
Rugs are dispatched directly from the Christopher Farr workshop, so they will arrive separately from any other items ordered from Tate Shop.

Goldfinger + Tate furniture
As each item of furniture is made to order, delivery takes 12-14 weeks, and will arrive separately to any other items in your Tate Shop order.
Food & Wine
Our collection of food and wine is only available for delivery in the UK. We currently offer free delivery on wine orders over £100, using a specialist white glove service within the M25 area.
Wine: UK only – £20 per order
Please note that our wines can only be purchased by those aged 18 years and over. Customers will be asked to provide proof of age upon delivery.

Refunds & returns
Please contact our customer service team within 45 days if you need to return anything from your order. We will be happy to offer you a full refund, replacement or exchange on any items excluding custom prints, Goldfinger + Tate furniture, face coverings and pierced earrings. We cannot cover the cost of returning the items, unless we've made a mistake or they are faulty.
