Holzer's Survival series was written for display on electronic signs, notably in New York’s Times Square in 1986. Each cautionary sentence instructs, informs, or questions the ways an individual responds to political, social, physical, psychological and personal environments.
Designed for Tate by Jenny Holzer, our exclusive collection carries her unmistakeable voice and puts sustainability at the forefront of its design.
Rizza Boo was commissioned to create the lettering for the long-sleeved top in her unique script style. Charissa Gregson, aka Rizza Boo, is a Glasgow-based tattoo artist with over 15 years of experience. Previously she was the lead artist for the National Maritime Museum’s exhibition British Tattoo Art: Reclaiming the Narrative, a celebration of contemporary tattoo art on Black and brown skin. She is also the founder of Shades Tattoo Initiative – a safe space to build community and showcase the work of Black and POC tattoo artists working in the UK.

Jenny Holzer is donating all proceeds from her Tate collection to help more people experience and engage with art.
Machine washable, the t-shirt is made by Arches Global in Portugal from organic cotton sourced through Chetna Organic India, and dyed using PVC- and phthalate-free dyes. Pre-shrunk, it’s made to last.
About the artist
American artist Jenny Holzer has been creating provocative and poetic statements for more than 40 years. Whether encountered on city streets or in art galleries, Jenny Holzer's work asks us to consider the words and messages that surround us. Her art takes many forms, including stone benches, projections, signs, posters, paintings, plaques and textiles.
Holzer’s relationship with Tate includes ARTIST ROOMS: Jenny Holzer, 2018, and her striking light projection on Tate Modern’s chimney in 2021, created to draw attention to the climate emergency. More recently, four of her engraved marble benches were on display at Tate Modern as part of the exhibition ARTIST ROOMS: Art and Text.

Delivery times
We aim to deliver stocked shop products within:
- UK Standard – 5 working days
- International (excluding EU) – 2-4 weeks
For framed custom prints and rugs, we aim to deliver within:
- UK – 1-2 weeks
- International (excluding EU) – 2-4 weeks
Many of our neon lights are made in small batches, delivery is estimated at 4-6 weeks worldwide. Our Goldfinger x Tate furniture collection is made to order, with a production lead time of 12-14 weeks.
Please note that some items are dispatched separately if they are made to order (such as coffee, custom prints and custom print clothing, neon lights or furniture). This means that if you order these items alongside other shop products, they won’t all arrive together, and you’ll get several deliveries.
If the delivery time frame for each item has ended and you’re still waiting for something from your order, please get in touch and we’ll investigate for you.
Delivery costs
We currently offer free standard delivery on UK orders over £60. Our other delivery costs are as follows.
For orders under £60:
UK Standard – £5 per order
Rest of world (excluding EU) – £28 per order
From 13 December 2024, we will be temporarily pausing shipping to the European Union, to update our details to comply with new EU General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR). We will restart shipping to the EU as soon as possible, thank you for your patience.
Please note that all orders into the United States are now subject to additional tariffs. You will be contacted via a third-party customs email when your order is ready to be released with the amount to pay. Please pay this when contacted, as failure to do so will unfortunately result in your delivery being returned to us.

If you are not completely happy with your order, you can return any items to us, free of charge within 60 days of purchase, and we will be happy to offer you a full refund, replacement or exchange on any items excluding custom prints, furniture and pierced earrings.
