Additional Information

Inspire the young (and young-at-heart) artists in your life with this fantastic collection of five titles from our popular Meet the Artist series of activity books. Each book introduces a different artist or art movement – in this case, Sophie Taeuber-Arp, Peter Blake, The Pre-Raphaelites, Andy Warhol and J.M.W Turner – in a fun and engaging way, through hand-on activities and beautiful illustrations.

Featuring beautiful reproductions of key artworks, each book is illustrated by a leading contemporary illustrator, chosen by Tate. The Meet the Artist series encourages children to use art as an avenue for exploring ideas and expressing their own experiences through art-making, and is an excellent introduction to the key themes and figures of art.

In Meet the Artist: Peter Blake, illustrator Rose Blake brings her father’s works to life with playful illustrations and engaging arty tasks, exploring Peter Blake’s artworks, themes and ideas.

Zoé Whitley and Lesley Barnes invite you into the artist’s radical and radiant world in Meet the Artist: Sophie Taeuber-Arp to create your own abstract modern art inspired by trailblazing career and life, making puppets, designing costumes and creating patterns along the way.

Meet the Artist: J.M.W. Turner by Lizzy Stewart gets kids to create colourful Turner landscapes and seascapes, experiment with watercolours and paint portraits of their friends and family.

In Meet the Artist: Andy Warhol, Rose Blake will have you experimenting with printing and blotted line drawings, designing your own disco outfit, being famous for 15 minutes, making your very own time capsule and even becoming the director of your own movie

Step into the magical world of Meet the Artist: The Pre-Raphaelites and learn about the literature, mythology, poetry and culture that inspired this radical group of artists, creating your own works of art along the way with Helena Perez Garcia.
