Description
Mini print of Simon Verelst’s A Vase of Flowers, c. 1669 – 1675.

The flowers in Verelst’s vase lean towards us, and look like they’re about to dangle over the edge of the frame. Simon Verelst was considered to be the finest flower painter in England for a time, and the self-declared ‘god of flowers’.

Simon Verelst was a painter of the Dutch Golden Age. Born in The Hague into a family of painters, he moved to London at the age of 25, where he achieved fame for his flower paintings. He was later confined for insanity, which has been attributed as the cause for some paintings featuring hugely over-scale roses and peonies. His exact year of death is unknown, somewhere between 1710 and 1721.

All our mini prints measure 35.6 x 28 cm and include a white border with full artwork credit line.

Our mini prints are produced on responsibly sourced 250 gsm matt art paper using a four colour flat-bed digital printer.
